> About Me:

I completed my A.S. in Biotechnology in Laboratory Sciences at Valencia College in May 2022. As part of my biotechnology studies, I completed an internship at the Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Central Florida, where I had the opportunity to be involved in undergraduate research. During my internship, I gained firsthand experience of the extensive use of software in biological research. This experience made me realize my profound interest in the intersection between biotechnology and computer science. Thanks to this realization, I am currently pursuing a B.S. in Computer Science at the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering at the University of Florida. After completing my undergraduate studies, my aspiration is to pursue a M.S. in Computer Science and engage in research focused on computational biology.

> BACE Impact:

The BACE credential was instrumental in securing my internship at the University of Central Florida. The skills tested by the BACE were commonly used in the lab, and without them, I would not have been able to successfully complete my internship. Possessing this credential sets me apart from other computer science students and aligns perfectly with my aspirations in computational biology. At the University of Central Florida, I was responsible for performing Bradford protein assays and western blots on neuroblastoma cells. My primary role centered around managing the western blot imaging and analysis process. Utilizing quantitative analysis techniques, I carefully examined the obtained images using specialized software to extract valuable information. After analyzing the results, I shared them with my Principal Investigator, offering valuable insights into the patterns of protein expression and making a meaningful contribution to the advancement of our research.

> Personal Impact:

One of the most rewarding aspects of my job was the opportunity to engage in continuous learning, particularly in the realms of cancer research and biotechnology.
