> About:

Julian attended John A. Ferguson Senior High School in Miami, FL and was enrolled in the Biotechnology program, where he earned his Biotechnology Aptitude and Competency Exam (BACE) credential. After graduating high school, Julian pursued a degree in Clinical Laboratory Science at Santa Fe College in Gainesville and also accepted a Manufacturing Technician position with Biotility.

> BACE and Career Path:

Earning the BACE Credential prepared Julian for both college and his role as a Manufacturing Technician. The credential strengthened his foundation in science and equipped him for his day-to-day responsibilities in his role, including the use of instruments such as water baths, micropipettes, autoclaves, and spectrophotometers. Preparing for the BACE also provided him with hands-on experience in key laboratory techniques, such as inoculating and maintaining bacterial cultures and preparing solutions.

> Job Description:

In the Biotility laboratory, Julian set up lab stations for field trip activities, maintained a clean and organized workspace and ensured laboratory equipment was functioning properly, and prepared bacterial culture stocks. He also contributed to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions, maintained the company’s product database, and provided general administrative and technical support.

Julian says the best part of his job at Biotility was being able to apply the skills he was certified in and working alongside a great team.
