Course Description

The Industrial Biotechnology Educator Experience (IBEE) is a professional development program designed to provide experience with the skills, techniques, and knowledge to teach biotechnology curricula in the context of working in the industry. The target audience is secondary and post-secondary educators teaching any curriculum in which biotechnology concepts and techniques may be integrated.

Participants will develop an understanding of the departmental roles and careers, as well as the criteria associated with working in this highly regulated environment. Industry insight includes an examination of the research, development, testing, manufacture, and approval process for a biopharmaceutical product.

This program is formatted as an online, self-paced course with a duration of 20 hours. It is delivered on University of Florida’s E-Learning platform (Canvas) in the form of engaging video lessons with knowledge-check quizzes. Upon course completion, a Certificate of Completion and 2.0 CEUs will be awarded by Biotility and the UF Office of Professional and Workforce Development.
