Juan Martinez

Account Director

Juan Martinez is an Account Director, supporting business development activities at Biotility. He has an MS from Cornell University (Physiology/Neuroscience) and a PhD from the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus (Biochemistry). After initiating a career in academia developing biology and biotechnology curricula and undergraduate research programs in Puerto Rico, he moved to the “dark side” in industrial biotechnology at various startups at Sid Martin Biotech/UF Innovate and other University of Florida spinoff companies. Now, after a career in research, process development, and GMP biomanufacturing, and in addition to his role at Biotility, he also advises biotechnology startups and growth-stage companies as CEO and founder of Makikomojo LLC.

Fun Facts: Juan takes his RV to heavy metal/rock festivals and car racing and other sporting events, and also collects beer pint glasses. He has three Havanese dogs (Maki, Kiko and Mojito), and has been to Mardi Gras in New Orleans (where he attended college) — 17 times and counting.
