Quality Control Technician Credential (QCTC)

The QCTC demonstrates that you have mastered key competencies in laboratory testing, contamination control, and regulatory compliance, making you a strong candidate for quality-focused roles in life sciences industries.

The Quality Control Technician Credentialing Exam is a standardized, industry-aligned assessment that confirms readiness to perform essential quality control tasks in regulated manufacturing and laboratory settings.

The exam is intended for individuals working in or preparing for quality-related roles in pharmaceutical production, sterile manufacturing, biotechnology, or contract manufacturing. It is suitable for aspiring QC technicians, lab assistants, and cleanroom support staff.

The exam is delivered online through UF’s e-Learning platform and proctored remotely via ProctorU. Candidates must test in a suitable remote environment following all technical and procedural requirements in the Candidate Information Bulletin.

The QCTCE includes 75 questions in multiple-choice, true/false, and matching formats. It is closed-book with a two-hour time limit. A passing score of 80 percent is required to earn the credential.

The exam fee is $215 per attempt.

Candidates who pass will receive a digital credential and badge via Accredible within two weeks. The credential can be shared on resumes, LinkedIn, and professional platforms, and earners may opt into Spotlight, Biotility’s national credential registry.

The QCTC is valid for five years. To maintain an active credential, candidates must retake and pass the exam prior to expiration.
