As an Exam Item IRB Industry Reviewer, you will play a critical role in upholding the quality and integrity of the IRB (Institutional Review Board) Specialist credentialing program. You will ensure exam items meet high standards for clarity, accuracy, alignment, and fairness. Your review helps strengthen the defensibility and validity of Biotility’s credentialing assessments.
Position Overview
We are seeking experienced industry professionals to serve as exam item reviewers. Reviewers must possess strong analytical skills, familiarity with technical training or workforce development, and the ability to assess whether exam items are written clearly and appropriately measure minimum qualifications for entry-level or early-career candidates.
What You Will Do
- Attend a training session to learn Biotility’s item review procedures.
- Utilize Biotility’s secure, cloud-based item platform to review and manage items efficiently.
- Evaluate items to ensure that:
- Items are clearly written, with well-constructed stems and plausible distractors.
- Items are accurate, unambiguous, and free of grammatical or technical errors.
- Items are aligned with the stated learning objective and properly supported by the referenced source material.
- Items are appropriate for determining whether a candidate meets minimum qualifications for the credentialed role.
- Provide concise, constructive feedback to improve item clarity, fairness, and technical soundness.
- Meet review deadlines and participate in virtual review meetings with Biotility Project Manager(s) when needed.
Required Qualifications
- Professional experience in IRBs.
- Ability to evaluate exam items for clarity, accuracy, alignment, and appropriateness at the expected competency level.
- Strong communication and analytical skills, including the ability to identify unclear language, implausible distractors, or misaligned objectives.
- Ability to assess whether exam items accurately reflect real-world expectations and regulatory-aligned best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in training, curriculum review, assessment development, or workforce competency evaluation.
- Prior exposure to credentialing programs or industry certification exams.
- Exceptional attention to detail in identifying errors or inconsistencies.
Compensation
This project offers $500 per assignment, which includes the review of up to 50 developed items.
Before starting work, selected consultants must complete the UF Supplier Application to become an approved vendor. Biotility and UF’s Procurement Services are available to help throughout the application process. Once assignments are completed, consultants must submit an invoice for payment, which will be processed within 30 days of receipt.
