Association of Science Teacher Education 2019 International Conference
January 3, 2019 - January 5, 2019
The Association for Science Teacher Education is a non-profit professional organization composed of over 800 members from countries around the globe. The mission of the ASTE is to promote excellence in science teacher education world-wide through scholarship and innovation. We are an international association of science teacher educators, scientists, science coordinators and supervisors, and informal science educators who prepare and provide professional development for teachers of science at all grade levels. The Association for Science Teacher Education (ASTE) promotes leadership and support for professionals involved in the education and development of teachers of science at all levels. ASTE advances practice and policy through scholarship, collaboration, and innovation in science teacher education.
ASTE strives to be the leading voice in the areas of research and policy development related to the enhancement of science teaching. At a time when there is much attention focused on teacher accountability and improving teacher quality, ASTE is poised to respond to these challenges through the innovative and cutting-edge efforts of our internationally renowned membership. Our flagship journal, The Journal of Science Teacher Education, provides a key outlet for our members to share their scholarship and professional development activities with the larger science education and policy communities.
The ASTE annual conference is held each January and is dedicated to continuing the professional growth and development of individuals who work in or have a strong interest in issues related to science teacher education. The ASTE conference is open to both members and non-members and we actively encourage all individuals with an interest in STEM teacher education to join us.
