   Description

Students will extract DNA from fruit, such as strawberries, using common household materials and supplies such as salt and rubbing alcohol. Learning objectives include: observing DNA in the foods we eat, learning simple methods to isolate DNA (and why each step is necessary), understanding why it is important for scientists to extract DNA from organisms.
